The Department of Immigration and Citizenship will implement a new points test in 2011 - It is expected that it will be launched in July 2011. The points test is being rebalanced to attract applicants with experience and a broad base of skills.
Under the current system applicants who work in occupations on the Skilled Occupation Lists, but with no experience, are being favoured over talented and experienced individuals.
